It was a close call for one MB TA Red Line rider Sunday night when a large piece of metal fell to the ground from a set of stairs. MB TA rider Tim Shannon told WC the piece of rusted metal narrowly missed him when he was at the Sabin Hill stop in the city’s Orchestrate neighbourhood. The MB TA acknowledged Monday some minor repairs were needed after the panel fell, adding no one was injured and no Red Line delays were associated with the incident. Other panels were inspected Monday morning, and engineers inspected the concrete steps and determined they were structurally sound and safe for use, the MB TA said. The cause is under investigation.
